Prophetik @ LFW, 18th February 2011

Now, I'm not usually seen at these kind of events, but my brother, a drummer and percussionist, was invited to play at Jeff Garner's show at Vauxhall's Fashion Scout 'Prophetik' show this February.

It was a higgeldy piggeldy start (it may well always be like this) with loads of people queuing outside in the cold, but some of waiting upstairs in the galleries of Freemason's Hall in Covent Garden.

The building is wonderful - I must make a note to go back there. Are we allowed?

Anywho, eventually queues formed and with only my name on the door, I let everyone else in first. This eventually worked out well, as I got right down the front (on the back row...!) but I could see what I went for. The little bro!

And so it began. With a solitary singer on stage, followed by a dramatic violinist, the stage was set for something special.

... and on went the show! With the music composed specially by Benjamin Ellin (and played by my brother...!) the show was a mix of beautiful patchwork and silks.

And here is the one everyone took a large gasp of air for, the finale dress with ostrich feathers. Absolutely beautiful:

....Lovely huh?

So a very lovely midday out!

I'll leave you with a shot of the crowd, which included Livia Firth and Hilary Alexander, who blogged about it here.

2011...

So... it seems I haven't blogged for far too long.

This isn't to say I haven't wanted to; I have. It's just knowing what to write, who I'm writing to (no one) and a decent subject to write about.

I've been trying to work out what I do which might interest other people. I have figured that I'm alright at finding fun things to do on the cheap / for free and that I hope I find little niceties which others might appreciate, and so this is what I shall blog. Fun London-esque cheap things to do, and fun items around and about.

Here goes... with a little photo from the set of 'The Kings Speech'. I worked on Iliffe Street until September 2010 and they filmed a scene there. It looks amazing! Enjoy :)

thursday 7th may 2009

well hello!

this first post marks the beginning of my blogging life.

I've never particularly been one to go into a soliloquay... (I've been wanting to use that word ever since my A Levels.. I'm not even sure if it works here...)

So in the future, hopefully I will be learning how to upload photos, be able to connect to my phone to update on little finds around and about town (I have a little penchant for small japanese food shops with brightly coloured packets of snacks...).

Just about to leave the office anyway and pop out for a spot of sample sale shopping and cocktails with the jupiter girls...

much love

I'll leave you with a poster (tea revives you) I'm looking to get for the kitchen perhaps when we move east...
