Now, I'm not usually seen at these kind of events, but my brother, a drummer and percussionist, was invited to play at Jeff Garner's show at Vauxhall's Fashion Scout 'Prophetik' show this February.
It was a higgeldy piggeldy start (it may well always be like this) with loads of people queuing outside in the cold, but some of waiting upstairs in the galleries of Freemason's Hall in Covent Garden.
The building is wonderful - I must make a note to go back there. Are we allowed?
Anywho, eventually queues formed and with only my name on the door, I let everyone else in first. This eventually worked out well, as I got right down the front (on the back row...!) but I could see what I went for. The little bro!
And so it began. With a solitary singer on stage, followed by a dramatic violinist, the stage was set for something special.
... and on went the show! With the music composed specially by Benjamin Ellin (and played by my brother...!) the show was a mix of beautiful patchwork and silks.
And here is the one everyone took a large gasp of air for, the finale dress with ostrich feathers. Absolutely beautiful:
....Lovely huh?
So a very lovely midday out!
I'll leave you with a shot of the crowd, which included Livia Firth and Hilary Alexander, who blogged about it here.
